Prevention and Counseling Services

Through our Prevention and Counseling Services, AAMA is one of Texas's largest Substance Use Disorders Intervention and Treatment services providers. Our programs help youth and adults break the cycle of addiction and change the trajectory of their lives. These programs include:

In-school intervention for middle and high school students
HIV/STI and Viral Hepatitis C prevention education, testing, and referral services
Outpatient treatment for teens and adults

Additionally, AAMA provides outreach health education, testing, treatment, and referrals for adults at high risk of communicable infections.

The most comprehensive array of services is based in Houston, with selected services available in Laredo.

Houston

Buena Salud Program – Screening, Brief Intervention, Treatment, and Referral (SBIRT).
Project Tejas – We offer individual and group adult outpatient SUD Treatment, family, aftercare, and recovery support services.
Teen and Family Center – We offer SUD treatment, family, and recovery support services at no cost to the families.
Minorities Action Program – Outreach services for people at risk for communicable infections. We provide prevention education, HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis C testing, and condom kits. All referrals and services provided are at no cost to individuals.

Laredo

Concilio Hispano Libre – Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for adults. Offering individual and group adult outpatient SUD Treatment, family and Peer support services.
Páso Libre – Medication-assisted treatment for adults, offering individual and group adult outpatient SUD Treatment, family and Peer support services.
Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program (TAIP) – Individual and group adult outpatient SUD Treatment.
Peer Support Groups – For adults in recovery.
